T-Mobile Expands HSPA+ To 10 Additional Cities, Speed Boost On The Horizon
As you already know — there’s been a lot of talk about the AT&T and T-Mobile merger,but T-Mobile is continuing the expansion of its 4G HSPA+ network, having added ten new cities, along with promising to double download speed caps in some major markets. The cities that have recently had T-Mobile 4G coverage activated include: Ames, Iowa Anderson, Indiana Battle Creek/Benton Harbor/Jackson, Michigan Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado Lawrence/Manhattan, Kansas Springfield, Illinois Wichita Falls, Texas The major markets receiving the upgrade to 42Mbps HSPA+ (note: there are no 42Mbps HSPA+ phones out there) will first be Las Vegas, Orlando, and New York, with Chicago, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey following shortly after. T-Mobile plans to cover 25 major markets with 42Mbps HSPA+ by the mid 2011 as well. America’s Largest 4G Network now reaches 167 markets and more than 200 million people nationwide – offering a 4G experience to even more of its customers where they live, work and play. New 4G markets include Ames, Iowa; Anderson, Indiana; Battle Creek, Benton Harbor and Jackson, Michigan; Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado; Lawrence and Manhattan, Kansas; Springfield, Illinois and Wichita Falls, Texas. With nationwide 4G and a great selection of 4G devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S™ 4G, T-Mobile® myTouch® 4G, T-Mobile®, Dell™ Streak™ 7, as well as the upcoming T-Mobile® G-Slate™ with Google™ by LG and T-Mobile Sidekick® 4G™ by Samsung, T-Mobile customers can upload videos and pictures to their favorite social media sites, get directions and stream video – and more – all while on the go. Additionally, in 2011, T-Mobile is doubling the speed of its 4G network to achieve a theoretical download speed of 42 Mbps. T-Mobile customers in Las Vegas, New York and Orlando, Fla., are the first in the country to experience the increased 4G speeds (HSPA+ 42), followed closely by Chicago and further expansion of the New York network into Long Island, N.Y., and Northern New Jersey.
