BusinessWeek reported that  Apple would be announcing an iPhone for the carrier Verizon shortly after CES 2011. And now there’s even more evidence of an upcoming release date for the Verizon iPhone. The proof comes from when a reader of Phonearena.com spotted an online retailer, Offwire.com, selling cases from a 3rd-party site called Case-mate. The website also offers a wide selection of AT&T iPhone 4 cases so it doesn’t seem to be a misprint. But as for now Offwire has pulled all Verizon iPhone products from the catalog.

As pointed out by another reader, Case-Mate already has their own website dedicated to Verizon iPhone. When you go to the page it now redirects you to a generic iPhone 4 page but Google cache still has a copy of the website which reads:

The Wait is over: iPhone 4 for Verizon is Coming

The waiting game is finally over. After three long years and countless numbers of rumors, the iPhone 4 will soon be available on the Verizon network. The subscribers of the United States’ largest carrier can all breathe a sigh of relief. And start making plans to camp out at their local Apple store.

And to top off everything else, Verizon is buying up all iPhone related domains. Both “iphoneonverizon.com” and “iphoneforverizon.com” are now owned by “Verizon Trademark Services LLC,” the same company who owns “verizon.com” The whois info of these domains also shows that they were bought very recently on December 9th 2010. Do you see any reason for Verizon to continue to keep quiet about the release?
