With the flood of tablets entering the arena at CES 2011 it’s absolutely necessary for the smaller companies to separate themselves from the crowd in hopes of being recognized and remembered. eLocity found a good way to do that, even though it’s made some people upset in the process. The company has gone against Google’s wishes and has outed Android 3.0 -Honeycomb- ahead of the scheduled official announcement. Most of you have probably never heard of eLocity, but even with that being the case, the new tableteer has several devices in the works for release this year. In a press release today, eLocity spoke about 7 different tablets that are planned to be shown at CES, all of which are part of the new A10 line. We’re not too excited about the names of the tablets -they’re called the A10.1 through A10.7- but silly name choice aside, we’re still interested. The company is definitely setup for success with solid distribution deals in place and while the detailed specs aren’t known yet, each A10 will be running a dual-core Tegra 2 processor (this is to cover the rumored Google requirements), microSDHC support up to 32GB, USB ports and 1080p HDMI video output. A pre-order of the tablets will be starting January 17th, but as of right now pricing isn’t available. Is the fact the company is almost an unknown name going to effect the success of the tablet regardless of the actually quality?
