Getting Sony Ericsson to talk about the new Playstation phone is near impossible, but this hasn’t stopped info being leaked. The chinese site IT168 has managed to get some play time with the SE Playstation phone (aka the XPERIA PLAY). According to the site, the phone is has Qualcomm’s 1GHz napdragon QSD8255 and Adreno 205 GPU as well as coming preloaded with the Playstation Pocket app store. The specs also include a 4-inch touchscreen running at 854 x 480, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, 512MB of RAM/ROM and a microSD card slot. Sony Ericsson has also included dual-microphones which are mostly likely to be used for noise cancellation. A 1,500mAh is powering the phone and even with the battery, the XPERIA Play comes in smaller than the PSP Go.

Some benchmarking was done by IT168 and it was discovered that the Playstation Phone could hit 1,733 in Quadrant and 59.1FPS in Neocore while running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Keeping in mind that the phone is still in development, these numbers are very unlikely to be the final specs and have no where to go but up. How many of you are planning on getting the PS phone when it drops or is there no reason to get this over the iPhone other than network restrictions?
