Google just recently updated its Goggles app to version 1.3 and added a few noteworthy features that makes the app more desirable than it was before. Out of the new features, there are three in specific that many are raving about. The first is the ability to scan QR codes without actually taking a picture. All you have to do is hover your camera over the image and Goggles will automatically recognize it.The second is Goggles now recognizing ads in major US newspapers and magazines. The company is claiming that this feature will work with any ads dated since August 2010.

The last feature that mostly everybody is talking about – Google Goggles is now able to scan and solve Sudoku puzzles in a matter of seconds. Surpringly it works – the app has no trouble identifying numbers at all. If you are a Sudoku you probably won’t end up cheating but it’s definitely a neat trick because of the fact that it works so well.
