According to the folks over at BGR, their sources are confirming that iOS 4.3 will be bringing a personal HotSpot feature to all iPhones in March, subject to the approval of individual carriers. If this is true, iOS 4.3 will begin to support personal HotSpots
Verizon’s iPhone 4, which will be running a new iOS 4.2.5 comes with support for turning the device into a personal Wi-Fi HotSpot allowing up to five Wi-Fi devices to share the iPhone’s cellular data connection. Their sources are also informing that that iOS 4.3 build version will be 8F5148b and the baseband will be 04.08.00. The technical acceptance is planned for March.
For those of you who have been following the jailbreak scene as well, @comex previously stated he was going to wait for iOS 4.3 to release before releasing his untethered jailbreak. With the announcement of Verizon’s iPhone 4, @comex in a recent tweet mentioned that waiting for the Verizon’s iPhone 4 was going to be too long a wait and that he planned to release his utility sometime this month. If BGR’s sources are telling the truth, waiting for iOS 4.3 would have been a 2 month wait and @comex is likely to release his untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbeak solution soon.
