Android on iPhone

Hackers have finally managed to port Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a jailbroken iPhone

3G.

The OS seems a bit sluggish, which isn’t surprising since the iPhone 3G has a much slower processor than most recent Android (or iOS) devices — and since the operating system wasn’t really designed for the hardware, everything else seems to be working fine as can be seen in the video embedded below:

https://twitvid.com/6SWN3 – For those of you in doubt, this is Android Gingerbread on iPhone 3G, apologies for the crap video ;)

Also, since it is based on the iDroid project, you will be able to keep both iOS and Android in a dual-boot configuration on your iPhone.

No word on the release date yet, in the mean time you can follow the step-by-step guide listed below to install Android 2.2 Froyo OS on your iPhone. And, as usual stay tuned for more news and info by following us on Twitter and/or by subscribing to our RSS Feed.
