As the iPad 2 becomes available nationwide next week on March 11th, the biggest names in retail will be in lockstep. From the look so the ads that have turned up just 24-hours after Steve Jobs debuted the second generation Apple tablet at his company’s media event yesterday in San Francisco, each retail heavyweight such as Best Buy and Walmart are believed to be planning to carry the iPad 2 from its first day of availability. The retailers are no strangers to Apple producs either, with Best Buy carrying the first generation iPad (though not nationwide at all stores) right out of the gate, while Walmart joined in several months later, first selling iPads in October 2010. Although Best Buy is confirmed to begin selling the iPad 2 on March 11th, Walmart has not yet corroborated reports of iPad 2 availability on launch day. Apple has realized that selling products through large retailers has cumulatively contributed greatly to the monstrous sales record of the first generation iPad – with 15 million sales and counting as of right now. For Apple, releasing the iPad 2 at its retail stores alone will clearly not take place. Once again, Apple has made the launch of its newest product a retail team effort which is likely to see success. So are you excited for the release of the iPad 2? Will you be getting it on launch day? Or do you think it isn’t worth the money? Let us know your opinion in the comments below!
