more evidence comes out proving that HTC is passed just “studying the market” when it comes to tablets. As we reported earlier, a recent trademark from HTC speaks about an upcoming device as “a handheld wireless device, namely, a tablet computer” referred to as “Scribe”. Even though HTC hasn’t made an official statement regarding its intentions, with the recently filing of the trademark its becoming more certain that HTC is ready to enter the market and battle with Apple.

Even though it was originally believed that HTC would make their debut into the tablet market at CES 2011 or during the Mobile World Congress in February, but it now seems more likely that a mid 2011 launch is planned. The tablet from HTC is expected to run Android 3.0 aka “Honeycomb” according to most industry analyst. HTC isn’t alone in preparing a new Android tablet, Motorola also has something in the works and has recently made headlines when an executive made a comment about the iPad being a “giant iPhone.”

When the announcement finally comes from HTC that the world’s largest maker of mobile phones using Google’s Android operating system will be producing a tablet that will be on Android, there won’t be too many that are surprised. But what will be interesting is seeing just what features HTC will implement with the hopes of them being enough to topple the iPad and make a big splash with their entrance into the tablet market. What do you think HTC will have to focus on for the new tablet to have a fighting chance of taking over the market or do you think that at this point nothing can beat the iPad so in reality everyone else is competing for 2nd place?
