Similar to Rubyra1n, GeoHot might also be working on another iPhone unlock tool named “Rubysn0w.” We don’t officially know what the program will consist of but probably relates to unlocking the iPhone 4 on baseband 02.10.04 and 3.10.01 including the iPhone 3G/3GS on 05.14.02. Consistent with his previous unlock tools,  This was recently discovered after it was found that whois records for blackra1n, rubyra1n, and rubysn0w shares the same record while the whois record for limera1n is different. Interestingly, the whois records say that both limera1n.com and rubysn0w.com were registered the same day on March 27th 2010 making the claims even more authentic.

Just to also let everyone know, GeoHot is noton Twitter. If you have been following someone on Twitter with the word “geohot” in their alias, than it is most likely a fake and we’d recommend that you un-follow all such profiles now.

GeoHot hasn’t spoken a word about all this and we can’t safely combine his work in this project, however, by the whois domain record for Rubysn0w. We do not that it is headed right for George Hotz, with all the information, address and email that perfectly match the data which it was made out to blackra1n and limera1n. All Facebook fan pages and twitter accounts related to rubyra1n and rubysn0w are unofficial and we suggest that you don’t follow them for now. As for right now, we can’t say much but the hacker will probably surprise us again with the new iPhone unlock tool “rubysn0w.” We will update you as soon as more information regarding rubysn0w pours in.
