A recent tweet from Joshua Hill of Chronic Dev Team suggests that the team has decided to work on their “GreenPois0n” tool to make it support an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad running iOS 4.2.1. Right now you can untether your jailbreak using iPhone Dev Team’s Redsn0w 0.9.7b5 but it will only serve to the users who have enrolled in the iPhone Developer program and have legitimate access to that IPSW.  This news goes hand to hand with our previous report where it was reported that the new version of the GreenPois0n jailbreak tool was going to feature an untethered jailbreak.

In addition to this, Hill also confirmed that the Chronic Dev Team was working on their own untethered exploit and not the ones used in Redsn0w. Their version will also notrequire SHSH blobs for iOS 4.2b3. The teams thinks its pointless to roll out a beta version of the jailbreak tool. Seems like an indirect way to jab at MuscleNerd, especially after their dispute and the fingers being pointed around during the release of the SHAtter exploit, which happened just recently.

While we aren’t sure about the exact status of the GreenPois0n iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak, we do know that they have already started working on it so please be patient!
