An iPhone hacker by the name of jcf_dev has recently released PwnageTool Bundles for jailbreaking the iPad Touch 4G and iPad on iOS 4.3 beta 1. The bundle can be used with the existing version of PwnageTool to create custom firmware files for a semi-tethered jailbreak. Only those who have a membership of the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can continue onward to jailbreak their device. You can follow the detailed guide listed below on how to jailbreak the iPad Touch 4G and iPad running on iSO 4.3b1 using PwnageTool bundles.

Warning:

The method is complicated and requires you to modify the restore Ramdisk manually, if you don’t know what you are doing, then we would recommend staying away. We aren’t held responsible for you bricking your iPhone.

NOTE:

• For those of you who don’t already know, this version of PwnageTool (with custom bundles) will not preserve your baseband. If you rely on an unlock stay away from this release and proceed at your own risk only. We aren’t held responsible if you brick your iPhone.
• If you don’t have a valid developer’s certificate, and have the device registered with Apple as a provisioned development device, even the legitimate 4.3 beta will not activate once it is loaded.
• User’s will also have to edit the hosts file if the device has already been jailbroken to let the process verify with Apple’s servers, NOT Cydia’s. (Currently there is no way as of yet to save the 4.3 SHSH blobs to Cydia’s server, so all of the “Verification” and “authorizing” will have to be done legitimately, through Apple’s servers.)

Important:

• Make your own Ramdisk to be able to restore because PwnageTool makes a broken one. (Don’t restore just yet, instructions on how to create the Ramdisk.
• Updated Cydia is working on 4.2+.
• Your baseband is not upgraded during the restore process.
• You must boot tethered with “tetheredboot” to enjoy unsigned apps.
• Never run Cydia when you have booted untethered, this will make MobileSafari and others apps crash.
