“Anti-Piracy 2.5 update” is what the update has officially become known as. With this update Xbox 360 owners who have flashed the firmware will no longer be able to load bootleg titles on to the console. And if you want to play on Xbox LIVE the update is required for access. The “Boot-to-Disc” option that was previously removed to try to stop illegal bootleg games being played, is now being brought back for the same purpose. Other more subtle changes will be implemented. According to Major Nelson, the GamerCards that gamers are use to will be seeing a change as well. You will no longer be able to see which “Gamer Zone” another player is currently in, and as for the GamerCards, they’ll be taking on a darker shade. On January 20th is when you’ll the changes to the GamerCards take effect. Check out the video below to see the update to the dashboard in action.
