The iOS 4.3 Final version is all set to release on March 11th. This new iOS will bring new features to iPhone, iPod touch and will support iPad 2. As always many hackers and jailbreak tool developers are warning users about updating to the new iOS version. To ensure that no one loses key jailbreak functionality and in the case of those who rely on an unlock – the ability to have an unlocked phone, users are warned to not upgrade until there is a successful jailbreak method established. But this time TheBigBoss is issuing a serious caution about updating to iOS 4.3. TheBigBoss is issuing a warning for the entire iPhone jailbreak community informing everyone to not to update to upcoming iOS 4.3 firmware as it tends to break the mobile substrate (saurik’s extension for SpringBoard), along with jailbreak tweaks such as winterboard, sbsettings, bitesms, folder enhancer, and Five Icon Dock; all of which are available via Cydia and will no longer work with the new iOS version. We recommend you wait until a stable and official version of jailbreaking is out. With 4.3 comes Apple’s implementation of address space layout randomization (ASLR). In short, this will mess up the way mobile substrate works. You will need a new mobile substrate in order to use your favorite tweaks such as winterboard, sbsettings, bitesms, folder enhancer, etc. So you should definitely avoid 4.3 until an “official” jailbreak is released for it. Of course we will announce when that is right here. We will update you about the iOS 4.3 jailbreak when more information is available, as usual, stay tuned by following us on Twitter and/or by subscribing to our RSS Feed. Authors:
