iPhone Dev Team member and developer, Musclenerd has just confirmed that Stefan Esser’s untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak exploit is stable enough and the dev-team is just working some minor GUI and Cydia issues. This is what he has tweeted: @Klikkser well @i0n1c’s untether is solid! Just working out overall 4.3.x JB issues and Cydia https://is.gd/ac44em If you unaware, earlier Stefan Esser who is a security expert and does have an untethered jailbreak solution has delivered it to the iPhone Dev Team. The dev team is currently doing a beta test with this exploit. The name of the exploit is not announced yet. It is still unclear, if it would be PwnageTool or Redsn0w. Though it seems, redsn0w’s Monte will be replaced with i0n1c’s exploit as Monte technique is slightly complex to follow. The list of supported devices include iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 2G, iPad 1, no word on iPad 2 jailbreak just yet, however Comex managed to jailbreak iPad 2 running on iOS 4.3, but the hole has been discovered and patched by Apple with the release of iOS 4.3.1, so iPad 2 users will have to wait a little longer to get the untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1.
