And, now we have rumors floating on the Internet related to a new unlock method using IMEI of your device which is now available for the GSM iPhones. You also do not need to jailbreak your device as the unlock is independent of it. It is said to unlock any baseband including iPhone 4 basebands 02.10.04 / 03.10.01 / 04.10.01 and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 05.14.02 / 05.15.04 / 05.15.04 / 05.16.01 / 05.16.02. All the above mentioned basebands are unlockable using iPhone Dev Team’s Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 software which can only unlock iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3GS baseband 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00. Folks over at CutYourSim are now offering IMEI based unlock iPhone 4 solutions. It claims to unlock any baseband without requiring you to jailbreak it first. They are claiming it to be an OFFICIAL UNLOCK SOLUTION. If this is true, they must have found a way to access Apple’s database and have whitelisted the IMEI numbers. The unlock will work with any iPhone version, and any baseband version, no need to worry about updating to the latest version anymore. The only problem with this type of solution is that its expensive, and will cost you $169 for the unlock. That means its more expensive that Rebel SIM and Gevey SIM who are offering it at a price below $70. iPhone Dev Team is openly talking about this solution which ensures that the method is working fine.
