Apple Releases iOS 4.2.2 (iOS 4.3.3 Build 8F305) For Apple TV 2G

Apple has released iOS 4.2.2 firmware build 8F305 for Apple TV 2G and it is now available for download. Previous version of Apple TV iOS 4.2.1 was released back in late March with bug fixes, video and audio improvements. This release contains various bug fixes and improvements over the last release. Full change log is as follows: AudioAddresses an issue in which audio is not output when playing some video content. Video playbackAddresses an issue in which video is not displayed when playing some content. Audio output settingAdds an audio output setting for switching to 16-bit audio for compatibility with some TVs and AV receivers. Live FF/RW improvementsImproves the performance of fast-forwarding and rewinding live events. Movie descriptionAddresses an issue in which the description information is not displayed for some movies. YouTube video orderAddresses an issue in which YouTube subscription videos were not ordered by date. A note for the jailbreakers – MuscleNerd has warned to stay away from this update until further notice. This is what he has said: “Apple just pushed out a lone AppleTV2G update…stay away from that if you’re currently untethered on ATV2G” To update your Apple TV to the current software version follow the steps below: Select Settings -> General using your Apple Remote. Click Update Software. At this time your Apple TV checks to see if an update is available and a download message should appear if an update is available.
